Six

After 3 weeks of home i got bored of home once again, ive just returned to the home up north, loving it already, anyway, over my brief holiday i shot yet more polaroid, no surprise there.
Anyway, for those who dont know, i started a project during february '07 to document all or most of my friends on Polaroid as a kind of going away present to myself for uni. picked up a shitty little One Step off eBay for 11 quid then started shooting!
8 months later from starting the project i went off to uni, (you can bet i was glad i got in, wtf would i do with all the polaroids haha?) and made my bathroom into somewhat of a gallery displaying all of what i had shot, and again i've updated it again with a fresh set of 10. Not the best ive shot, in fact, there are very few candid polaroid shots of my friends i am actually proud of, but none the less i like the fact i can document well on polaroid opposed to shooting digital or on film be it 120 or 35mm.

but yeah, i thought i'd take a few fresh phota's to show how its looking:

click to view large, shot in candle light due to busted lights! argh!

I dont know how many are there, over 250 but ah well, roughly if i do a bit of maths i reckon ive spent around £200, maybe £300, on polaroid film..woops. im not sure if ill ever finish this project, or if its even a project that needs to be finished, or maybe i dont want to finish it! im constantly meeting new people, i wonder what this will look like in another two years or so!
But yes, back to that point i made about my recent batch not being so good. I think a lot of people think polaroids are cool, and no doubt i think that too! theres a very retro feel to them, in using a polaroid itself and the little photo that comes out, but it also unfortunately leads to the fact that people think all polaroid shots are good...which really isnt true, and this is what ive got from speaking to people and showing them polaroids.
its a camera, just like a compact digital, slr, tlr or the one maybe found on your phone, okay this happens to print it out instantly, but that doesent change whether a photo is good or not...

still tho, at around £1.10 per polaroid, even if i take a shitty one i never throw it away :P
